It's official.
Tomorrow I will be walking that knife's edge between closer to 30, and closer to 40.
Not that I particularly care. I suppose that it helps that people are surprised to find out my age. I tell them that it's because I'm Aaaaasssian, and I use "Perrrrrr crrrreeeeaam" to keep my face young and soft.
Actually, that's not true, I use Cetaphil, and only when I can be arsed to remember.
Anyhoodles. How must I celebrate? Well, let me tell you, it sure won't be with a honking big cup of steaming coffee!!
That's right, the curse of my family has finally struck me. High blood pressure.
So I get to enjoy my the morning of my 35th year with a nice tall glass of cold water, and a 25MG tab of Hydrochlorothiazide. Oh yes, and don't forget that banana to stave off the potential potassium deficiency.
Damn!! DAMN!!! I miss that coffee. But Sarge says he'll kill me if I die.

Go Pies!
Hoo-ray!! They beat out the Sydney Swans this weekend (they call this match up Kidney Pie. Sydney=Kidney, Magpies=Pie)in the semi's, but are up against the hard to beat West Coast Eagles, last years cup holders.
Here's hoping for a Pie's Army comeback in 2007!
WTFBBQ!!! Why can't I post a video?! Ok, never mind, fixed.
And I have to add that as I'm sitting here posting this I'm drenched in perspiration because Sarge SOMEONE turned off the air conditioner, and I just chugged my 24 oz coffee. Yes my friends it's 12:30 and I have just has my coffee, I have the most massive caffeine withdrawl headache, and I'm sitting in a pool of my own sweat. That's how I know it's Monday..

100% Made of AWESOME!
Another reason to love Alanis Morissette.
I laughed so hard coffee came out of my nose.

GAH! AAA!!! AWWW F@$%!!
This week I spilled my coffee twice. I'm not talking a small regular household mug. The de Gallo coffee cup is a whopping 24 oz.
It would be a tragedy of course if it was just the coffee spilled. However in the usual over dramatic fashion I had to spill the whole damn cup on my computer keyboard and computer chair. And then a day later all over the couch and the tv remote.
Luckily Piko de Gallo was at school the first time, and in bed the second.
Because I let it rip.
It was like the opening scene of Four Weddings and a Funeral, where Hugh is late for the wedding and he's running around the house yelling "Bugger!". Yep that was me.
A lovely side effect though is now my chair and couch smell like coffee. It's strangely calming.

Coffee
Well, I can report that there is no Starbucks in Ellsworth, Maine.
They do have Dunkin' Doughnuts, and one of those Coffee-On-The-Go drive thru shacks.
I'm just not that desperate. It's not like the in-laws don't have a working coffee maker, it's just that when they brew, it's usually a 2 Tbsp. grounds, to 12 cups water ratio. So I have to drink about 5 cups to get me through the morning, 10 cups if I know we're going to go a visitin', and if I really wanted to pee that much, I'd just drink tea. When I brew it up at home, my spoon practically stands up in my cup.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not exactly a huge fan of Starbucks, it's a bit pricey for me, and I think I make a better cuppa at home. It's just one of those conveniences that I enjoy on occasion. I suppose that I could just go to McD's as they are now serving iced coffee. Probably much cheaper too. I guess to me a Starbucks on every corner is a symbol of civilization. Does that make me some kind of snob?
So I mentioned that Ellsworth has a Dunkin' Doughnuts. Well, every single little town and hamlet here in "Downeast" Maine has at least one, sometimes even two. I am serious. The first time I came to Maine 7 or 8 years ago, I made a joke that it's all pretty much the same. Each town is School, Main Street, Church, Dock, Blueberry field. Lather, rinse, repeat.
These days it's School, Church, Dunkin' Doughnuts, Main Street, Curves, Dock, Blueberry patch. I think Dunkin' Doughnuts and Curves have entered into some kind of evil covenant here in Maine. But by the looks of things around here Dunkin' Doughnuts is coming out ahead in this deal.
